קיים קשר ישיר בין תזונה נאותה ואורח חיים בריא, לבין פוריותה של האישה.

תזונה נבונה משפרת את סיכוייך להרות וללדת ילוד בריא. נשים עם משקל גוף עודף פוגעות בסיכוייהן להרות וללדת ילוד בריא.

עיקר הדברים:

  1. אסור לעשן.
  2. אסור אלכוהול.
  3. אין לשתות יותר מ- 3 כוסות קפה ליום (כולל משקאות המכילים קפאין).
  4. צריכת פחמימות מורכבות (דגנים מלאים, קטניות ומוצרים המבוססים על קמח חיטה מלא) והימנעות מפחמימות פשוטות (ממתקים, סוכרים, מיצים ומוצרי קמח לבן).
  5. צריכת שומנים נבונה: העשרת התפריט בשומנים בלתי רווים ובאומגה 3, והימנעות משומנים רוויים ושומן טרנס.
  6. אכילה מגוונת של פירות וירקות מכל הצבעים ונטילת ויטמינים, מינרלים ואנטי אוקסידנטים.
  7. הימנעות מפיטו-אסטרוגנים.
